Sub-Committee Membership

Minutes:

At the time of the publication of the Licensing (General) Sub-Committee meeting agenda, Councillor Steve Bridger was an appointed Member of the Sub-Committee. However, Councillor Bridger subsequently became unavailable to attend the meeting and opted to withdraw from the Membership of the Sub-Committee. Subsequent to Councillor Bridger’s withdrawal, Councillor Steven McCormick was appointed to the Sub-Committee.

Appointment of the Chair

To appoint a Chair for the Licensing (General) Sub-Committee meeting.

Minutes:

The Sub-Committee unanimously elected to appoint Councillor Steven McCormick as Chair of the meeting.

Members are asked to disclose the existence and nature of any Disclosable Pecuniary Interests in respect of any item to be considered at the meeting.

Determination of renewal application for private hire driver licence

Councillor Shanice Goldman, Other Interest: Councillor Shanice Goldman stated that she recognised the driver but clarified that she did not have any declarations to make with respect to that fact.

Under Section 100(A)(4) of the Local Government Act 1972, the Committee may pass a resolution to exclude the public from the Meeting for Part Two of the Agenda on the grounds that the business involves the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in paragraph 1, 2 and 3 of Part 1 of Schedule 12A to the Act (as amended) and that pursuant to paragraph 10 of Part 2 of the said Schedule 12A the public interest in maintaining the exemption outweighs the public interest in disclosing the information.

The Sub-Committee resolved to exclude the Press and Public from the meeting in accordance with Section 100A (4) of the Local Government Act 1972 on the grounds that the business involved the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in paragraphs 1, 2 and 3 of Part 1 of Schedule 12A to the Act (as amended) and that pursuant to paragraph 10 of Part 2 of the said Schedule 12A the public interest in maintaining the exemption outweighed the public interest in disclosing the information.

Determination of renewal application for private hire driver licence

The Sub-Committee is asked to determine a renewal application for a private hire driver’s licence.
