Minutes:

The Committee received a report requesting consideration of the outcome of the public consultation and whether or not to recommend to Full Council the adoption of a new Public Spaces Protection Order for the Borough of Epsom & Ewell.

The Committee considered the following matters:

a)            Public Response. The Committee considered that the proposed PSPO was well supported by the public, with 92% of people in support of the extension of the PSPO for a further 3 years, and 83% of people in favour of the PSPO boundary being made borough-wide.

In response to comments from a Member, the Chair stated that groups such as students and faith groups had been reached out to for responses to the consultation. The Public Protection Manager explained that ‘Buddy Up’, a charity organisation who provide support for young people, had submitted a response to the consultation and provided their views on the proposed PSPO in respect of the young people of the Borough.
